Our Vacation

CJ and I went on a poor man's vacation this past week. We stayed at home and "worked on the house."

We failed to work on the house.

Well, that's not true. My Dad came by twice and fixed the gaps in the wood floor from where the wall used to be (pic when we get the floor stained), fixed part of the bathroom floor, and showed us how to properly patch up walls before painting them. I then patched up some walls and we are (almost) ready to paint.

Oh, and I got myself a green thumb. I picked some weeds, CJ and I raked the yard, we came up with a plan for a patio and some landscaping, and I planted some things:
Our plan for the yard is to put in a patio, bushes and/or vines along the fence, and some small basic perennials in beds. Everything else will be in containers. While I have no idea of what I'm really doing here, I hope to learn a lot. Unlike our indoor projects, I like working outside, so that's a plus.

So, things are moving along. I hope to have our house completely done for the year by the end of June, our one year anniversary at This Old (Minneapolis) House. Maybe we will have a birthday party for the house.

But other great things happened during our poor man's vacation. For one, I got yelled at by a punk ass kid. This one:The pic isn't that great, I know, but the ones of his car and his friend are.

Basically, CJ and Robert and I had been sitting on the front porch in the middle of the day. CJ ran across the street to get charcoal and Robert ran inside. I was outside alone when this guy and is buddy came walking down the street. The jerk off above starts yelling at me, calling me not very nice names and sort of threatening me. It was unnerving. I have never been yelled at before by someone on the street. Usually we are completely ignored (and can get good pics) or we greeted nicely.

Oh, and I think he was selling drugs. Awesome.

Oh, and here's a mini-van with a spoiler:

The Season Begins

It must be spring. I went almost all winter without calling the cops. The weather has been nice, and so here I am with 911 on speed dial again.

This guy was across the street screaming, banging on the bus shelter, and acting crazy.

I am pretty sure I've called the police on this guy before for the same reason.

I was not the first person to call this time. The cops came along very quickly and arrested the guy. They took him away.
