Neighborhood Rapist
We were just notified that Jabar Morarend, a convicted rapist, is moving in two blocks away.
Now, I don't believe he is the only sex offender in the neighborhood. A quick search shows he is 1 of six in the zip code. In fact 5 of the six are within 5 blocks. Then there are all those who have not been caught/convicted as adults. I guess the point is that it is always a bit unnerving when you get one of those notifications that your new neighbor is a rapist.

Yeah, that's pretty unnerving. Looking at this guy made me thing that what unsettles me most is knowing that a lot of these guys, even in their mugshots, look like the kind of person you'd invite over to a neighborhood bbq without considering for a moment that they might have an unsavory history.

The man's paid his debt to society. He's got to live somewhere, doesn't he? Of course, that's easy for me to say with the K-Mart protecting me.
Two blocks in which direction?
Two blocks in the opposite direction from your house. Of course, there is a house just for sex offenders two blocks north of your house.
